Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysian academic and politician, 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia

Anwar bin Ibrahim, also known as DSAI and PMX, is a Malaysian politician who served as the 10th prime minister of Malaysia since November 2022. A member of the People's Justice Party, he has been the party's president since 2018. Anwar also served as the finance minister since his premiership and the Member of Parliament for Tambun since 2022, as well as the chairman of the political coalition Pakatan Harapan (PH) since 2020. He also served as the chairman of ASEAN since January 2025.

The prime minister of Malaysia is the head of government of Malaysia. The prime minister directs the executive branch of the federal government. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong appoints the prime minister who is a member of Parliament (MP) who, in his opinion, is most likely to command the confidence of a majority of MPs. The prime minister is usually the leader of the party winning the most seats in a general election.
