Dr. Ágoston Trefort was a Hungarian politician, who served as Minister of Religion and Education from 1872 until his death. He was the President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences from 1885.

The minister of Education of Hungary is a member of the Hungarian cabinet. The minister of education was Miklós Kásler until 2022 as minister of human capacities, when this task was given to the minister of interior Sándor Pintér.
