David Perdue, American politician

David Alfred Perdue Jr. is an American diplomat, politician, and businessman serving as the United States ambassador to China since 2025. A member of the Republican Party, Perdue previously served as a United States senator for Georgia from 2015 to 2021. He was an unsuccessful candidate for governor of Georgia in 2022.
