Steve Lovell
Stephen William Henry Lovell is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Over a career spanning more than a decade, Lovell made over 260 league appearances and scored 65 goals, representing clubs in both England and Scotland. Lovell began his career with AFC Bournemouth and later played for Portsmouth, with loan spells at Exeter City and Sheffield United. He is best known for his time in the Scottish Premier League, where he played for Dundee, Aberdeen, and Falkirk. While at Aberdeen, Lovell gained a reputation as an impact substitute, contributing important late goals, including in domestic and European competitions. He later played for Partick Thistle before returning to AFC Bournemouth, where injuries led to his retirement from professional football in 2011. Lovell is the half-brother of Eddie Howe, manager of Newcastle United, and was formerly engaged to Amy Macdonald, a Scottish singer-songwriter.
