Aung San, Burmese general and politician, 5th Premier of British Crown Colony of Burma (died 1947)

Aung San, known honorifically as Bogyoke Aung San, was a Burmese politician, independence activist and revolutionary. He was instrumental in Myanmar's struggle for independence from British rule, but he was assassinated just six months before his goal was realized. Aung San is considered to be the founder of modern-day Myanmar and the Tatmadaw, and is commonly referred to by the titles "Father of the Nation", "Father of Independence", and "Father of the Tatmadaw".

The prime minister of Myanmar is the head of government of Myanmar. The incumbent prime minister is Nyo Saw, appointed by Acting President Min Aung Hlaing on 31 July 2025.
