Bill Ward, English drummer and songwriter

William Thomas Ward is an English drummer. He was the original drummer for Black Sabbath, co-founding the rock band in 1968 alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. Ward originally left the band after the recording of Heaven and Hell (1980), their first album with vocalist Ronnie James Dio, but has rejoined them intermittently since. He has released three solo albums, the most recent being Accountable Beasts in 2015.
