LAM Mozambique Airlines 470 crashes in the Bwabata National Park in a pilot mass murder-suicide, killing all 33 people on board.

LAM Mozambique Airlines Flight 470 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Maputo, Mozambique, to Luanda, Angola. Halfway through its flight on 29 November 2013, the Embraer E190 twinjet operating the service crashed into the Bwabwata National Park in Namibia, killing all 27 passengers and 6 crew on board.

Bwabwata National Park is a protected area in northeastern Namibia that was established in 2007 and covers 6,274 km² (2,422 sq mi). It was created by merging Namibia's Caprivi Game Park and Mahango Game Park. It is situated in the Zambezi and Kavango East regions, extending along the Caprivi Strip. It is bounded by the Okavango River to the west and the Kwando River to the east. Angola lies to the north and Botswana to the south.

Suicide by pilot is an aviation event in which a pilot deliberately crashes or attempts to crash an aircraft as an act of suicide, with or without the intention of causing harm to passengers on board or civilians on the ground. If others are killed, it may be considered an act of murder–suicide. It is suspected to have been a possible cause in several commercial and private aircraft crashes and has been confirmed as the cause in other instances. Determining a motive can be challenging and sometimes impossible for investigators to conclude especially if the suspected pilot sabotages or disengages their in-flight recorder or in-flight tracker. In the United States, investigations are primarily undertaken by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
